Home School – Top 5 Have to Do
It’s back to school time. For homeschoolers like us, it’s good to have a fresh start. Some of my friends homeschool year round, but I want time to think about it, download and upgrade. What about you? From left to “homeschooling” is exciting. But there are some simple things you can do to make your college years can get a good start.
1) Clean out, discard and organize. Rid yourself of things that weigh on you. You really do not tattered old spelling curriculum. Actually, there are great options available online. Home schoolers Curriculum collectors … not around to peer pressure. Keep what you need and sell or donate what you do not. If you sell, you can finance the No. 3 below. A clearer classroom is an oasis of distraction for your students! Keep it clean and organized and your students will be less distracted from learning.
2) Find out how homeschooled last year. Did you know what you did? Did you achieve your goal? What was great curriculum? What curriculum should dump you? Were you stressed? What do you expect from your home school will in the future?
3) Use your list in # 2, to decide what homeschool curriculum that you add to your school this year. Buy only curriculum that will help achieve these goals. Research the different types of curriculum at home before you buy, check out the samples online, and questions. Make sure it is a good game before you plop a lot of money for them.
4) Buy your school supplies and teaching materials in August. This is the best time of year to be bonded mundane needs such as pencils, notebooks, erasers, and buy. These supplies are so cheap that it’s not crazy to take to complete. I usually buy enough to keep us over the years. The first year will be an estimate, but in recent years, you learn to know how much you have to do it through an entire year.
5) Make your goals for the year and clearly defined. All in the family must be able to understand them. Check your syllabus and see what you need on a daily basis. So a “loose” schedule acurately reflect your family and their need for education at home. I do not like a time-based school schedule, because I feel like a failure if we do not keep her. You know, life happens! I want to issue a timetable – in fact, what we every day / week for the various home schooling, we must use. The child can cross it off as they complete.
I want the five starting points to use when I start each school year, they help to concentrate and rationalize what I want to achieve. Another thing I would mention is – Make sure you know your state homeschool regulations and revise them annually to ensure that no laws have changed. I hope you will be able to implement these strategies and success in school house!
