  • Tips for Training Self Learners

As a mother of six children, homeschooling often for any problems. If I leave, paper tiger engulf my life. But I am constantly looking for ways to simplify and streamline my life. From taking an introspective look at myself, to devices and applications, I want to be effective. But it is my goal in homeschooling is not only crazy to relax, but to my children a better education, without me. After having gone through and explore the ways that I could reach, I am sure that I do this through exercise “self-learner.” Be an independent learner is able to progress through the curriculum, to “living” books to go, and discover knowledge on their own. Here are a few tips that I practice:

    1) Make your children a love for reading. Encourage them at every opportunity to read. Be an example through life itself. Reading is the gateway to knowledge, and if your child has a love for this, the possibilities are endless!

    2) Find opportunities homeschool your children while learning it. A curriculum that a person with whom the child is the knowledge that it requires that – certainly not conducive to learning for themselves. While very young age, this is more a necessity. But if the child is older – and we train them to discover knowledge for themselves – they are independent in this region.

    3) by immersion study. Allow your child to study a subject or a book until they get tired of it completely. This may take several days to several weeks. You can make part of the book or supplement. I am particularly fond hope of this in our house. I think that with less, “begins” and “stop” can really help my kids stay on task.

    4) Teach them the value of a “job well done.” It’s something my father taught me and his father taught him. I do the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do – a lesson that our children will serve the rest of their lives. If they do not work the first time they do it over. If it does not solve the problem, they do it several times a week. This applies not only at home training but also in the household.

    5) When a child comes to me and asked me for an answer to a question in his homeschool studies, I always respond with … “Look at them.” or read the section above, I am sure the answer appears to you. “Encourage your children to find answers on their own. You can read her books again, to look in a dictionary or Google it. Be persistent in finding the answer a valuable lesson for the rest of her life will be learned.

Although I believe that these principles of our good family to serve in the coming year, other houses have different perspectives. I know that every family and every child needs to decide how they should be trained. I hope you exactly what you need to succeed.
