Reading for Success
As a school-home parent or a parent in general, do you know your child’s success in school depends on much reading and word comprehension. This allows him to communicate and understand his studies. When reading skills are not up to par, and you can see how frustrated he is with learning the job to read, you just want a little help. It can be scary, but not lose hope. This is just a hook in the educational process. There are solutions and help.
Your child has a trip to the doctor for an eye exam and glasses. It may be that he is only new to the reading process, and things have not clicked with him. If your child has just started school and he is not a structured discipline at school (kindergarten or Sunday school) environment is used, can focus its capacity. It would be boring. There are so many things to consider.
What the problem is to find a way, reading is fun. Did you spend much time with your child to books, reading and word games. Find books with stories that he loves unconditionally. Point out words in the story he seems to repeat, or tend to. There is always a favorite book that most small children love the pictures. Get him involved in the action. Bring him a poem and recite. Ensure that there is a poem that he likes. Let your child a stupid poem (you can write to him). Craft sets, playing God with alliteration, tongue twisters children always love.
For example:
- Minnie’s my gloves in the morning to restore
- Brie brings Breesy bran bread for breakfast
- Faith is for fun flowers
There are so many teaching and learning resources now available online for you to gain access. Many of them have free prints, some need to buy lunch. One can even help your own game to get to know your child better word for his age level. A great source for my daughter used to teach your child to read videos. These videos show children playing and having fun with words and songs. Although these videos are aimed at babies and toddlers, they can help your child develop his reading skills.
Whatever you do (and how) to read a pleasure for your child, then he will love for life!
