History of Home Schooling

In the last twenty years, more and more families have chosen to educate their children at home. The subject of home schooling children is controversial discussions and have been a lot of people curious about what it lead to anything. Home schooled children are not a new idea. Before 1852, when a law was passed that required school attendance, it was customary to learn for the kids at home.

The qualities for a house, the children are taught to manage on a daily basis is required. Their most important sources of learning were ordinary everyday activities, such as the treatment of animals, making clothing, building and other tasks. In ancient times, reading and writing were not as important as knowing how other skills needed to run to survive. During this time the children had just learned to read well enough to write the necessary tasks. The tasks related to farming and other work came first, before school classes. Today, in school subjects like reading and mathematics play in the first place for something like domestic work and outside. In the 18th and 19 Century, people were not about how effective this training was. Some of our stories, the most popular authors and inventors were educated at home. Some of our most famous stories of people who were educated at home are Thomas Edison, inventor Benjamin Franklin, John Wesley, Beatrix Potter, the author Charles Dickens and Alexander Graham Bell.

Americans began only public and private schools as a means to educate their children, such as compulsory attendance laws were respected. Was introduced by this Act, was the only place that homeschooling use in Amish country and people.

We have discovered that this type of education is not a new idea and has been a while, but in today’s society is making a comeback, and some believe it is a movement that pioneered the way for others.
