High School Graduation Requirements for Home Schools

For universities to be successful, they need the best possible students. Great students, the university “look good” and lead to a reputation as a good school. Universities with a good reputation will attract the best students. It is the responsibility of College Admissions Officers weed through the many student applications and find the best students. One of the first things that a college admission officer looks at the opening of the application of a student’s file is the graduation requirements. This is especially true for homeschooled students.

College admissions officers are responsible for what they call “clear, well-rounded children.” Homeschooled students compete with students from other school environments for placement in the best colleges and for scholarships in these universities. The most common High School Graduation Requirements

Below is a list of the most recognized graduation requirements:

1) Four years of English, preferably with two AP or college-level English classes
2) One semester of speech or verbal communication. This does not apply to drama.
3) Four years of mathematics, including geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus and calculus. Algebra I moved to the seventh or eighth grade. Calculus is offered as either an AP or dual credit course.
4) Four years of science, three years ago. The biology tends to be down in eighth grade. The four years, chemistry, physics, and two AP or two specialized courses. One of the AP or college-level courses have a biology course.
5) One year computer science. This is a web design course, a course in HTML or coding C + +, or a multimedia course. All students must know how PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
